ITS has approved the upgrade to macOS 11 Big Sur for personal and RISD owned computers.

Before upgrading to Big Sur (MacOS 11.2.x), please review the list of known issues and incompatibilities:

Known Issue: Incompatibility with older versions of GlobalProtect VPN

Solution: Update GlobalProtect VPN to the latest version. Follow this link to installl the latest version of GlobalProtect VPN.

If you have already upgraded to Big Sur and are having trouble with GlobalProtect VPN; reach out to the IT Service Desk for assistance.

Known Issue: Partial incompatibility with ESET Web and Email Protection

Error message: "Web and Email Protection is non-functional”.

Solution: Update ESET Endpoint Security to the latest version. Follow this link to download and install the latest version of ESET Endpoint Security. After installation, be certain to reboot your Mac.
